Well I took a Pic from Roys  cover boxes. Well I was Impressed when I picked this out. This is Scott 279 on cover date 1899. As you all know well I soak off these stamps looking for the rare scott 279A watermark vertical<>. I was going to soak this stamp off but I remembered as I found doing research on Scott 279A type. The three that have been found and sent in for certificates are all canceled with Machine cancels only!!! This is a hand cancel So its fancy as well so I need not soak off cover Because it is not Scott 279A It is Scott 279. It was canceled with a hand cancel so none are scott 279A if they were canceled with a hand cancel or fancy cancel type. Remember that when collecting. Roys covers Rock Remember im an expert in Scott 279A I own two of the three recorded one on cover one off. All three are machine cancels. I think there were only a few sheets that were entered into to the press that were were reversed making scott 279A type. And sent to large cities none in small towns have been found.Happy collecting.
