Mystery Egyptian stamp
#1

Hey all! Can anyone help me out with this: AI tells me this is a 1939 Egyptian revenue stamp, value 1 mil.

But I have been looking in the Scott catalog and CANNOT find it anywhere in Egypt. Probably Over-50 eyes missing it. So does anyone know the Scott number for this? Unless of course AI has it completely wrong and it's not from Egypt at all, which simply wouldn't surprise me.

THANKS!

I am pretty sure that AI is correct, that it is an Egyptian revenue stamp. However, Scott does not catalog revenue stamps other than US revenues. It's a whole 'nother world of stamp collecting.

This one is not old enough to be listed in the 1915 Forbin catalogue of Revenue Stamps, but the catalog is available for a free download from this site: https://archive.org/details/ForbinFiscal...9/mode/2up

Be warned, it's almost 800 pages and an 88MB download in PDF format.
