Further to my earlier post ... here is another data matrix stamp. This one is a Christmas commemorative -- 1st Class, Large.
Doing the same analysis, I get:
JGB S121 5 1017031 01255839 00210 140524 02 BCE124DAB306E5510
The changes would reflect the change in stamp type ... from S199 in the earlier example to S121; from 4 to 5 (for a sheet, this time, of 50 stamps); a different unique stamp number -- as it to be expected; a different postal rate; a different putative printing date of August 2, 2024; and 02 instead of 01 for a commemorative instead of a definitive.
Useful stuff to add to album pages and personal study going forward.
