You asked how I did that B&W mage of the CDS.
You can do it lots of ways. If you used an Apple OS you can take a photo or scan into iPhoto and enhance it in a great many ways to increase the contrast — including changing it to B&W. Or you can use a program called Image Slueth using your browser. You can find Image Sleuth on the same website as the well-known Album Easy DIY Album Page site.A third option is to use an App called Postmark Reveal which you can download from the App Store.
The last two options are specifically designed to help you read cancels and hand-stamps.The first option can do that, and more, but it requires a bit more practice. Image Sleuth and Postmark Reveal do most of the work for you. You just need to upload a photo and they do the rest.
