Dang Richard, I would have, but I'm saving up to buy the rest of the British Guiana 1c Magenta that I only own a sliver of, and which is up for sale, so I have to set aside my pennies for that right now... yeah, that's it.
Now that having been said, I AM curious about your valuation, though. I have an (older) catalog and am not seeing anything remotely close to that, nor have I seen much on my (admittedly) brief look online... so how DOES one place a valuation on something that might be new to the market? I'm presuming it's based on something similar?
Thanks!

Yes not in scott cat price. Its based on the price of Scott 219D. First day cover and only one to date. Mine being earliest date used on cover to date and only one registered to date. Remember cat prices are only reverence prices. Scott 219D asking price at auction was 35,000 but realized at Five thousand. Siegal Auctions Census for there sales are the actual prices they sell for to date. Siegal actual sale of the only 279A used to date 12 years ago. There are now two graded Mine off cover just graded 70 last year. There are only three with certificates two off cover and only one on cover confirmed by the experts.c Deep Green, Vertical Watermark (279a). Full letter "S" of watermark in clear vertical orientation, exceptional centering with wide margins, vivid color on bright paper, Extremely Fine Gem, a superb example of this variety which was produced in error, with 2007 P.F. (XF 90) and 2011 P.S.E. certificates (XF-Superb 95; unpriced in SMQ), this is the only used example of Scott 279a listed in the P.S.E. Population Report, extrapolating from the Scott Retail value of this stamp, which is 15-times that of the regular Horizontal Watermark issue ($7.50 for Scott 279a versus $0.50 for Scott 279), the SMQ value of this stamp were it listed would logically be a large multiple of the $95.00 listed for a Scott 279 graded 95

Thanks for this, Richard. It helps me understand how folk can figure out what to sell collections for - I had never thought of the whole "see how the auction houses did" and other markets, as well as checking out the Scott and other catalogues.
