I don’t collect US stamps but I will be making an exception for these when they are released on July 11th:

This is a wonderful example of stamps that appeal to people who don’t collect stamps. I expect these will be snapped up by hard core doll collectors, but they also appeal to anyone who owned one of the dolls pictured. I have wonderful memories of surprising my daughter with palaeontologist Barbie while she was studying palaeo-anthropology at university!

Oh Wow!
Thanks for sharing this Janet.
I've been collecting Barbies for some time.
Now, 500+ dolls later, it's time to downsize the collection!
Good thing stamps don't take up as much space as dolls!
Also:
Here's a 1999
USPS stamp (Scott #3188) of the 1962 Barbie:

Barb, you don’t happen to have the Barbie post office from 1994 do you? I didn’t know it existed until today and I want it!

Hi Janet,
Sadly, I don't have this playset, wish I did - but I know where there is one for sale, and I will email the link to you!

Wow! How cool is that! I had a Barbie when I was younger as well. And another thing I did have was a mum who could sew. She would buy Barbie doll dress patterns. So some unique things I had were two of my Barbie dresses that she made me. One, made from the same blue pastel rainbow-ish material as a gown my mum had made for herself, the other, from HER OWN WEDDING GOWN, which she had cut up anyway to make a baptismal gown for my brother when he was born. Nifty! Far more useful than having it dry cleaned and put in a box, HUH?! She even made a veil for her!
As for collecting now, Barb, if you're downsizing AND have the Soccer Barbie, I might be spoken to about buying her off you?! Let me know!
Love, Carmen "Soccer-Till-I-Die" Gauvin-O'Donnell
