Since I have so many APO covers I thought I would start a post Covers from WW2 Korean war, Veitnam. Ill start with a WW2 remember able day. U.S. Army APO 726/ Aleution Island (June 6, 1944) D-Day. UC3, Die 2. Letter inside. video>

As the war went on so long so does my APO covers

Here is something different to start it off, John H. Bradley one of the Flag raisers Autographed this block of stamps. At the Bottom the Photo of the Flag Being raised is Autographed by three Congressional Medal of Honor winners From WW2. Jack H Lucas, George E Wahen, Hershel W Williams. The photo is from Jack H Lucas own collection.

I think you mean "Aleutian Islands".
Specifically
Attu Island, Alaska. This remote Aleutian Island outpost served as a key US military base during World War II, after its recapture from Japanese forces in May 1943.

Spell check took over its Aleution Island. Spell check doesn't like the name. I put a video of the taking of the island by the allies.

[attachment=556]This ratty cover With postage due of 6 cents sent July 24 from APO#? covered by stamps, it must have been over weight So Richmond required another 6 cents due July 28 1943, The one cent is J 80 and the 5 cent is J 83. Cover type torn off.
